International Dot Day

The students at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center recently participated in International Dot Day during STEAM class. The day is inspired by Peter H. Reynold's book The Dot. In this story, the main character, Vashti, feels as though she is not good at art. Her teacher asks her to make something on her paper, and she makes a dot. She signs her work and finds it framed a few days later. It is then that she realizes she is an artist. Students in each grade level at Wilkshire created a different project, and they all came together as a dot collage in the hallway by the art room.

A dot collage created by student hangs in the hallway at Wilkshire.
