Lansing Symphony Orchestra Performance

Murphy and Ralya 5th grade students travelled to Wharton Hall at MSU on May 7 to attend the Link Up: The Orchestra Rocks concert of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra Rocks program explores rhythm pulse and groove in a classical music setting along with showcasing the indivual instruments and instrument families of the orchestra. The concert is a partnership between the Weill School of Music at Carnegie Hall and the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.  Students were provided with curricular materials to learn the music  prior to the concert, as it is an interactive concert where the students sing and play recorder along with some of the orchestra selections.  In addition, several students from Ralya were invited up on stage to be interviewed about their experience for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra’s website.
