First Place in MLK Essay Contest

Haslett Middle School eighth grader Lilly Meka earned first place in the annual MLK Holiday Commission Essay Contest. The theme of this year's contest was: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." She was recognized at the MLK Holiday Luncheon at the Lansing Center on January 21 - MLK Day. Lilly eloquently read her winning piece at the luncheon of over 1,500 guests and it appeared in the Lansing State Journal. Congratulations Lilly!
