Murphy Family Literacy Night

Murphy Elementary School hosted its third annual Family Literacy Night on November 12. Over 250 parents and students enjoyed a sports themed evening focused on literacy. Activities included making bracelets and coloring bookmarks. Community partners hosted rooms, including CADL Haslett Public Library, the local girl scout troop, Friends of the Haslett Library, and the MSU Latin American and Caribbean Studies group.
The Murphy PTO provided free books for all children, and Ms. Heidi along with her Buddies PALs read to the students. Highlights of the evening included guest author, Allison Spooner, and players from the MSU football team. Thank you to everyone who made this a successful night, and special thanks to Maggie Jada who created the photobooth backdrop of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
