Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies!  We'll be looking at US history, from the Declaration of Independence through Reconstruction.  We'll also spend time building on a variety of academic skills, as well as keeping watch on current events.

This is my 30th year at Haslett Middle School... 31.5th year with HPS, and 33rd year overall!   I feel so fortunate to have been able to land in the best community and school district in the state... Go Vikings!!

My basic teacher goals are to:

1) maintain a classroom environment that exemplifies respect for self, others, community, and Mother Earth

2) help students improve their academic skills

3) address current events on a weekly basis

4) teach the early half of US history
