Mrs. Batten
Hello! I am Mrs. Batten, Wilkshire's MTSS Coach and Academic Interventionist. I grew up in Holland, Michigan and moved to the area in college where I pursued a degree from Michigan State University. I received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have worked for Haslett Public Schools my entire career, which has been over two decades! In addition to my current position, I've taught kindergarten through third grade and have had the pleasure of working in all three elementary buildings. I truly love being a part of this learning community... Go Vikings! :)
I am fortunate to work with many of the students at Wikshire in some capacity. Whether it is through benchmark testing, overseeing their intervention schedule, or working with them directly in a small group, I am grateful for my role in their learning! The students at Wilkshire bring a smile to my face every day!
When I am not at school, I love to spend my time with my family. I have two daughters, Emerson and Anniston, and they are both students in Haslett. Even my husband, Mr. Batten is a teacher here! We are so happy to be a part of this community. I also enjoy traveling, biking, visiting the beach (anywhere!) and reading.
If you have a student in a Title One intervention group, or have questions about our RtI progam, please do not hesitate to contact me! I look forward to partnering with you and your child's teacher. The best way to reach me in through email. My address is battenjr@haslett.k12.mi.us Here's to a great year!
