Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Hamilton

Welcome to our second grade classroom! I am delighted to be your teacher and partner for our exciting new journey ahead.

I have been teaching in Haslett for over 25 years and have loved every minute of it! I have a Bachelor of Science degree from National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois with certifications in Elementary Education and Social Sciences. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.

I believe I was born to be a teacher. It is all I have ever wanted to do and is an important part of my life. I believe that figuring out how students learn is a huge part of being a teacher. Each student is so unique! It is vital that everyone feels valued for their individuality and inspired to achieve new dreams. I aim to create a positive, caring, nurturing environment where hands-on, engaging activities challenge students to achieve new heights and create eye-opening discoveries.

As much as I was born to be a teacher, I was also born to be a curious learner. Continuing to grow as an educator is imperative to me. This summer I attended professional trainings on technology, growth mindset, reading and writing strategies, and implementing STEAM activities in the classroom. I love learning new things to engage and inspire my second grade friends.

Building strong positive relationships with students and their families is a vital piece for success. I am eager to learn from you and work with you. I welcome your support and encourage you to volunteer in many ways. Our partnership will be the pathway to success.

I consider it a great honor and privilege to be your teacher for second grade. I am looking forward to a fabulous year!
