     ~Science Olympiad will have an introductory meeting this Thursday from 2:35 to 4:00 in Dr. Baltahzar's room. Anyone interested should pick up a packet from Dr.. Balthazar sometime before the first meeting and look it over. All are invited to come check it out; we need new members from all grades. You can earn medals for stuff you already know; we have tournaments once a month. If you're interested in Science Olympiad, but can't make it to the meeting, talk to Dr. Balthazar. 

     ~PALs is selling cider and doughnuts Wednesday through Friday Oct. 27-29. Supporting mental health. For a 1$ you will receive 2 donut holes and a cup of apple cider with an inspirational quote! Please see Mrs. Smith if you are unable to donate and she will assist you in receiving donuts and cider!

     ~SAGA will be meeting Tuesday at 2:30pm in Mrs. Burns.

     ~ National Honor Society Members! The induction ceremony for this year's Junior and Senior members will be held this Thursday at 7:00. Practice for the ceremony will be during 5th hour on Thursday. Please report to your teacher for attendance and then go to the performing arts center immediately.

                      WEEK OF 10/4/21

    JUNIORS AND SENIORS!

    Sign up for the Powder Puff Football game on Oct. 19 by scanning the QR code by the Four Corners Calendar, or with your English Teacher.  We are looking for both players and coaches.

    Good luck to the cross country teams at tonight‘s league jamboree.  Come cheer the teams on atGrand Wood’s Park at 5:00

     

    On Monday the varsity girls golf team finished second in the State Regional tournament at Groesbeck Golf Course.  This qualified the team for the State Championship tournament on October 15th and 16th at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek.  Sydney finished in 3rd place and Mina in 7th overall.  Good luck team at the State Championship.

    (10/1)  Students! Remember that the winning GRADUATION CLASS for Spirit Week will get Donuts early next week.  Today is PJ day and tomorrow is Class Color Day:

     (9/28) The Sexuality and Gender Alliance, formerly GSA, will be meeting today after school in Mrs. Burns' room from 2:30-3pm. All are welcome to attend.

    Homecoming FAQ’s

     

    1. Tickets for the dance will be sold during lunches on Wednesday and Thursday this week.  $7 before the dance.  $10 the night of the dance.  Cash or a check to Haslett Public Schools.  The dance will be held at the new Meridian Township Farmer’s Market.  This is the structure in the Meridian Mall Parking lot, closest to the Okemos Post Office. 

     

    1. What do I wear to the dance?  Typically, students dress up more than what they would for school.  Generally gentlemen wear khaki or dress pants.  A long sleeve button up shirt.  A jacket is not necessary, nor do you have to wear a tie.  Ladies typically wear a dress.  The length is up to you.  Again, typically dress shoes in some fashion are worn.  **If you need some help finding dress shoes, please let your teacher know.  We have connections!

     

    1. Voting for King and Queen will take place during lunches on Friday. Only the Senior representatives are candidates for K & Q.

     

    1. The community parade starts at 5:30 pm.  It leaves from Wilkshire Elementary.  The walking portion ends at Haslett Middle School.  The representatives and floats drive on to the High School. 

     

    1. King and Queen results are announced during half time of Friday’s game, along with the other class representatives, 9-12.

    Food deliveries will not be accepted at school this year.  Food delivered to the school will be sent back.

     A reminder to students who take the bus home. The buses need to leave the parking lot no later than 2:32 ~please make sure you go directly to the bus line at the end of the day to keep things on schedule.

     Attention students: Do you love trivia? Do you love showing off what you know about books, language, science, history, or pop culture? You don't have to know everything, but soon you'll be an expert in SOME things. Join quiz bowl! Our first meeting will be next MONDAY, September 13 in Ms. Dykman's room at 2:30. This meeting will be brief and discuss the year and answer any questions you may have. Please join us!

     The juniors are looking for a truck to pull the float in the homecoming parade on October 1st.

    Congratulations to the Haslett Girls Varsity Golf team.  On Thursday they finished in second place at the Redwing Invitational out of 17 Schools.  Sydney Dausman finished 2nd overall and Prabhleen Pawar 10th overall out of 91 golfers

     (9/7) Do you like history, the Constitution, and court cases, or AP government? Then you should join We The People club. Our first meeting of the year will be Tuesday the 7th after school in Mrs. Burns' room. We'd love to see you there."

     Congratulations to the Haslett Girls Varsity golf team for finishing in first place in the CAAC Red Jamboree yesterday at Eldorado Golf Course in Mason.

    The Haslett team shot a 165 finishing ahead of Mason, St Johns, Williamston and Fowlerville.

    The Haslett girls have won 3 consecutive Jamborees this year and are leading the conference.
