Mrs. Katie Swords

Hello First Grade Families,

Welcome to the bear class!  This year is going to be full of growth, learning, and fun!

I feel so lucky to be a part of the Wilkshire team of amazing teachers. I have taught kindergarten and first grade in the Lansing School District as well as at Morrice Area Schools. I live locally with my husband, John, my two high schoolers, Johnny and Maggie, and our dog Frankie.

Some of the things I love are reading, spending time with my family, being outside, hiking, running, and (my favorite activity) skiing! My favorite color is blue. I love dogs and bears!

I believe open frequent communication between home and school is the key to our success. Please feel free to reach out to me whenever you have a question. Email is usually the easiest way to get a hold of me during the school day. Please know I will reply as soon as possible. I am here to support your child and family in any way that I can.

I am excited to get to know everyone. We are going to have an AWESOME year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Swords
