Principal

Mrs. Newman has been in education for over 30 years, 25 have been in Haslett Public Schools. She has served as a special education teacher, MTSS coach, HHS associate principal, and for the past three years, principal at Haslett Middle School.  As an educator, she feels very fortunate to serve her students and the Haslett community. She believes all students can and will be successful, and she strives to ensure every student is provided opportunities to achieve their highest potential academically, emotionally and socially. 

Mrs. Newman is a graduate of Oakland University and Michigan State University.  Her husband and three children also all graduated from MSU and they are all avid Spartan fans. Mrs. Newman resides in East Lansing with her husband.  She also has two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and four adorable grandchildren. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and traveling.     

Associate Principal

Mrs. Dobson has been in education for over 10 years, this is her fourth year at Haslett Public Schools. She has served as a special education teacher, language arts teacher, and principal in another district. As an educator, she believes all students can become lifelong learners and be successful. 

Mrs. Dobson is a graduate of Michigan State University.  In her freetime, Mrs. Dobson enjoys time with her family and basset hound. She also loves outdoor activities-paddleboarding, running, biking, etc. She enjoys attending sporting events for MSU Spartans and Haslett Vikings.   She also enjoys reading, photography, crafting, food, and visiting new places.

Administrative Assistant to the Principal

Mrs. Bradley is a proud graduate of Michigan State University! Go green! Prior to joining the Haslett Middle School team, she served our youngest learners at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center. Early in her career, she worked for the government in IT support and training. Mrs. Bradley resides with her family in Haslett. She enjoys doing yoga, reading and going on hikes with her family. 

Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Wheeler lives in Haslett with her husband, a Haslett alum, and her two children.  She is from Williamston; however, she is now a proud Haslett Viking.  Mrs. Wheeler attended Central Michigan University double majoring in apparel merchandising and marketing.  In her spare time, she coaches softball for our Haslett Softtball Club.  She enjoys traveling, camping, and watching her children play sports.
