WECC/MSU Preschool

In the Spring of 2004, Michigan State University's Department of Family and Child Ecology formed a partnership with Haslett Public Schools to support preschool education at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center.

The Center opened in the Fall of 2005 and provides programming for children ages 3-5 in half-day sessions.  Each classroom is staff with master level head teachers from Michigan State University, as well as under-graduate students completing their junior or senior years of college.

The program is both scholarship and tuition based and includes preschool children from the Greater Ingham County area. Haslett's preschool special needs students, Ingham County Headstart students, and Michigan Great Start Readiness (GSRP) students are included in the program.

The MSU preschool is dedicated to providing a positive, caring environment for children and their families.  The program provides children with a variety of individual and group experiences aimed at developing their independence, creativity, and self esteem through play and hands-on experiences.
