Community Open House for Superintendent Candidates

  • The Haslett Public Schools Board of Education has scheduled community open houses for the two finalists for the open superintendency. Both Todd Bidlack and Patrick Malley will be available to meet with staff, students, and community members. The open house sessions will be in the Media Center at Haslett Middle School, 1535 Franklin St, Haslett, 48840 from 4:00-5:00 on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Those in attendance will be able to fill out an input form that will then be shared with all the board members.

Second Round Superintendent Interviews

  • The Haslett Public Schools Board of Education has scheduled the following candidates for second round interviews:

    6:00 pm - Todd Bidlack, Ed.S., Assistant Superintendent, Bloomfield Hills Schools, MI
    7:25 pm - Patrick Malley, MA, Chief Academic Officer, Bay City Public Schools, MI

    Interviews will be held in the Haslett Administration Building, 5593 Franklin Street, Haslett, MI 48840. Staff and community are encouraged to attend. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback to the board after each of the interview.

Superintendent Search

  • The Haslett Board of Education met with a representative from Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) on Monday, March 18, 2024, to finalize the process and timeline for replacing Superintendent Cook who will be retiring on August 31, 2024. MASB will be conducting a survey of all stakeholders and holding an Input Meeting on April 4, 2024. The following is a timeline for the search process:

    • March 19 – Initial Posting of Superintendent Position
    • March 21 – Stakeholder Survey Distributed
    • April 4 – Stakeholder Meeting (Haslett Administration Building – meeting times are indicated below)
    • April 19 – Stakeholder Survey Closes
    • April 22 – Regular Board of Education Meeting – 6 PM (continued search discussion)
    • May 7 – Posting Closes – 4 PM
    • May 13 – Regular Board of Education Meeting – 6 PM (continued search discussion)
    • May 21 and May 22 – First Round Interviews – 6 PM
    • May 28 – Final Round Interviews – 6 PM
    • June 10 – Regular Board of Education Meeting – 7 PM (approve new Superintendent contract)
    • July 1/August 1 – New Superintendent on Site
