Hello and welcome to fourth grade!

My name is Kristina Booms and I am so happy to be teaching at Murphy Elementary.

I am a DePaul University and Michigan State University Alumni.  My certification qualifies me to teach Kindergarten through 8th^th grade, all subjects and 6^th thru 8^th grade Social Studies. I received my Master's Degree at DePaul University, in Elementary Education.  Prior to attending DePaul University, I received my Bachelor's Degree at Michigan State University in Hospitality Business.  After pursuing a career in hospitality, my heart desired to make a difference in the world by working with children.  I could not have been happier with my choice to change my career to education. I was born and raised in Haslett.  I graduated from Haslett High School and even went to preschool here! 

When I am not busy in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my cat Lucy.  I have two sisters, Michelle and Jessica, and one brother, TJ.  You may see TJ driving around town in a firetruck or ambulance!  He is a paramedic and fireman for Meridian Township.  I also have ten nieces and nephews who keep me busy and on my toes.  Four of them are Haslett Vikings as well.   In my spare time I enjoy cooking, hiking, traveling, kayaking, and gardening.

This is my seventh year here at Murphy Elementary and I would not want to be anywhere else! I am very excited to have the opportunity to build relationships with you and your students throughout the school year.  My number one goal is to provide a positive and meaningful learning experience for your child.  If, at anytime, you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at school.
