Mrs. Ford

Hello 3rd Grade Families!

My name is Kelli Ford & I am thrilled and honored to be a part of Murphy Elementary and the Haslett Community!

I am a Grand Valley State University graduate.  My certificate qualifies me to teach Kindergarten thru 6th grade all subjects and 6th thru 8th grade Mathematics. I received my Master's Degree at Michigan State University, in Teaching and Curriculum with an emphasis in Reading and Writing. GO GREEN! My passion is to inspire and teach students about the vast world of knowledge and the value of life-long learning, in order to prepare all students for the real world.

In August of 2007, I joined the educational staff at Flora Ridge Elementary School, part of the Osceola County School District.  I taught 2nd grade for a diverse group of children in Kissimmee, FL. I loved the experience of teaching in a different place, but always missed my home back in Michigan. After several years of teaching at Flora Ridge, I decided to move back to Michigan. I feel I have grown a lot as an educator in this ever-changing world of education, but still value learning and growing as an educator myself. I have enjoyed all of my experiences, but none have compared to my amazing job at Murphy Elementary! I look forward to working with my new group 3rd graders this year as I embark on my 12th year of teaching!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Justin, our beautiful daughter, Ava, and handsome son, Jackson. Becoming a mom has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience - we are very blessed! We also have one adorable pup named Kenzie and two furry cats, Max & Stryker, who make our family complete :) In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, riding my bike, playing softball, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to build relationships with you and your student throughout the school year.  My number one goal is to provide a positive and meaningful learning experience for your child.  If, at anytime, you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at school.
