~ fever-free (without medication) for 24 hours
~ antibiotics taken for 24 hours
~ illness free for 24 hours (no vomitting, no diarrhea)

Report all contagious diseases to our school office.
Encourage and model good hygiene.

TWO-HOUR DELAY PROCEDURES |

In case of inclement weather, the district could implement a
"TWO-HOUR DELAY" instead of closing school for the entire day.
The procedure would be as follows:
-
"TWO-HOUR DELAY" will be announced on the radio and television. Notification will also be posted on the main page of the Haslett website.
-
Busses will pick up children exactly two hours from their normal pick-up time.
-
10:37 a.m. school begins for first grade students.
-
There will be NO morning Kindergarten classes.
-
For registered a.m. care students, Kids Connection will run normal hours.
-
We will not have adult supervision for students before 10:25 a.m.
-
Afternoon Kindergarten and p.m. Kids Connection care will run normal hours.
|
|

Children have an adult-supervised recess at lunchtime.
As long as it is not raining or the wind chill or actual temperature
does not fall below 0o F, children play outside.
We honor a doctor's note requesting children with special health problems stay inside, but all other children need to go outside to play and get exercise.
If you feel your child should not be outside because of a cold or other illness, it is likely the student is also too ill to be in school and a day resting at home would speed recovery.

SAFETY PROCEDURES
Each school in the Haslett School District conducts fire, tornado, and lockdown drills as a precautionary measure to teach children about emergency evacuation and safety procedures. A minimum of six fire drills are required each school year, with reports filed with the Meridian Fire Marshall.
If a tornado warning occurs near the end of the school day, students will be kept at school until an all-clear signal has been announced.
* Fire Drill: Practice going to a safe area outside
* Tornado Drill: Practice going to a safe area inside
* Lockdown Drill: Practice going to a safe "lock downed" area inside

Wilkshire's
three school rules:
BeSafe, Be Friendly, Be Responsible.
To help us provide a safe and

we request you help model these rules in two ways.
