Dinosaur Museum at Wilkshire |

Mrs. Murton's developmental kindergarten class at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center used their senses in their study of dinosaurs. Children created their own dinosaurs and exhibited them in the Wilkshire "museum." They also created a large tactile dinosaur and used their "think-spelling" to write descriptive words next to the item they contributed. |

Ralya Fourth Graders will participate in the Olympics! Reading Olympics, that is. Opening ceremonies took place in the Media Center on Monday, February 1, as proud students held up signs to represent their classrooms. Bennetopia, Coopertania, Bubolia and Usbattenstan will be competing for the gold!
Students will receive medals as they reach their reading goals. Medals will be displayed in the hallways as a way to keep count for each class. It is a fun team building activity for the fourth grade. |

Stephanie Chandel's Prime Time class at Haslett Middle School raised over $3,300 during a two week fundraiser called "Pennies for Patients." The money collected as part of this school wide fundraiser will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Some of the funds will help families who are affected with blood cancer, and the rest will go towards research.
Ms. Chandel's class sold paper pennies to students in exchange for incentives such as wearing a hat or slippers to school and chewing gum. Students also donated spare change from their homes. The two Prime Time classes that raised the most money won a pasta party from Olive Garden, and the third place class won a pizza party from Hungry Howie's. Congratulations to all the students who participated in this worthwhile event! Great job! |

The fundraiser was organized by the French Club officers, with help from French Club and Key Club volunteers.
